Highlights

Coming soon

Highlights aren't live yet. The mechanics below are how they will work; the app will tell you when booking opens.

Highlights are paid, time-bounded promotional slots. A token can pay to occupy the featured position on the Frontier front page for a set duration. Only one slot is active at any moment, and each token has a cooldown before it can book another.

Booking a slot

Pick a duration, check the price, pay. The slot is yours for that whole duration - provided that:

  • The slot is free. Only one token is highlighted at a time; if it's taken, you wait for it to expire.
  • The token isn't in cooldown from a previous highlight - see below.
  • The duration is between 1 hour and 24 hours.

The app always shows you the exact price before you commit, read live from the contract.

Pricing - linear, then stepped

The fee curve has two regimes:

  • Up to 4 hours - linear pricing at the base rate, currently 0.01 ETH per hour.
  • Beyond 4 hours - every additional second costs a flat 1.8× the base rate.

With the current parameters:

DurationFee
1 hour (minimum)0.01 ETH
2 hours0.02 ETH
4 hours0.04 ETH
6 hours0.076 ETH
12 hours0.184 ETH
24 hours (cap)0.4 ETH

The pricing is designed to make long takeovers disproportionately expensive - short, sharp campaigns are cheap, while renting the slot all day costs 10× what the hourly rate would suggest. The result is that the slot stays liquid: nobody can park on the front page.

Cooldowns

Each token's cooldown is independent - currently 1 hour after a highlight ends. This prevents the same token from monopolising the slot by chaining bookings back-to-back.

What the protocol can and can't do

The protocol team can adjust the pricing and the durations for future bookings. What nobody can do is cancel a slot that's already booked: once you've paid, the position is yours for the full duration, whatever happens afterwards.

The other promotion tool in the works is the Bumping Bot.
